GlobalGamingWomen.org Privacy Policy

Last updated September 2012.

The American Gaming Association (“AGA”) is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to our globalgamingwomen.org website (the “Site”), and we have created the following policy to demonstrate our commitment to you.  This privacy policy advises our visitors of the types of information that may be collected online on this Site and the practices that AGA follows with respect to the use and dissemination of such information.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding our privacy policy or data usage, please contact us via e-mail at [email protected] .

Information We Collect

We have designed the Site so that you are not required to provide personally identifiable information unless you are signing up for certain Site features.  The Site collects personally identifiable information from you when you voluntarily communicate with AGA by (1) registering for a Global Gaming Women webinar, event or mailing list, (2) completing a form or survey, or (3) emailing a staff member of AGA.  Personally identifiable information is information such as your name, physical address, e-mail address, telephone number or credit card information, when it can be linked to you or used to identify you.

In addition, our web servers automatically collect and log web usage data and other non-personal information from you when you visit the Site.  This information, including your IP address, referring site, pages viewed and length of visit, informs us about how visitors use and navigate our Site.  We may also use a third party service such as Google Analytics to track trends and Site usage.

How We Use and Share Information Collected

We use personally identifiable information provided to us on the Site to provide requested services, respond to your request or feedback and to improve the content and effectiveness of the Site.  In addition to the purpose for which you originally submitted the information, we may use the information you provide to make you aware of other benefits, products or events of AGA and its affiliated entities.  We may also combine the personally identifiable information you provide to us on the Site with information we obtain offline or from other third party sources.

Except as set forth in this privacy policy or we disclose otherwise at the point of collection of personally identifiable information, we do not sell or share the personally identifiable information we collect on the Site with non-affiliated third parties for their own use.  However, we will provide personally identifiable information to non-affiliated third parties in response to subpoenas, court orders, or to otherwise comply with law, to protect our interests, or when we believe in good faith the law requires it.  We may also use third-party suppliers and service providers to fulfill the services offered on our Site and may make personal information available to them to the extent necessary for them to provide services to us (for example, to print and mail event marketing materials).

In addition, we may use and share with others aggregated and/or anonymous (not personally identifiable) information that we have collected based on web-usage data or statistical information that we have compiled about our users.

If we sell all or part of our business or make a sale or transfer of assets or are otherwise involved in a merger or business transfer, we may transfer your personally identifiable information to a third party as part of that transaction.

Use of Cookies

Like most websites, we employ cookies to help visitors more efficiently use the Site. A cookie is a string of information that is sent by a website and stored on a user’s hard drive. We use cookies to continually enhance your experience, and may use them to store your preferences and to customize content specific to your needs. If you do not want your browser to accept cookies, you can modify the cookie option in your browser’s settings.  Each browser is different, so you will need to check your specific browser’s “Help” menu to learn how to change the cookie preferences.  You can also set your browser to notify you when a site sends you a cookie.  However, some Site features or services may not function properly without cookies.

Choice/Opt-Out

If your personally identifiable information changes, if you no longer wish to receive a specific service or communication from us, or if you wish to inquire about information that we have collected on our Site, please contact us at [email protected], and we will correct, update, or remove your details or process your request to be removed from our communications and services.

Security

While we have measures in place to help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security and make proper use of the information that we collect, no transmission of data over the Internet is guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of any information you provide to us.

Links

We make content from affiliated and other third-party websites available to you from optional links located on the Site. Please be aware that these websites are not subject to this AGA privacy policy, and we thus recommend that you review the privacy policy of each such website to determine how that website protects your privacy.

Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information on the Site from children under the age of 13.  If we learn that we have personally identifiable information on a child under the age of 13 we will delete that information.

Policy Modifications

AGA reserves the right to change this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our business practices. Any changes to this Site’s privacy policy, including information collected and the use and disclosure of information, will be posted here. Following any modification, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this privacy policy, so be sure to check back periodically for the most current version of our privacy policy.
